Upper Iowa University’s e-Center is designed to promote the "Upper Iowa Corridor" and its assets, and to bring new revenue, jobs, and residents to Northeast Iowa. The e-Center will help diversify the local and regional economy through recruitment of micro-enterprise business ventures, while providing marketing, management and technology resources, and training to new and existing businesses.The e-Center will develop strategies and plans to enhance the quality of Upper Iowa as the residential, and economic center of UIU’s future.

West Union, Fayette, Maynard, and Oelwein are the current cities identified by the e-Center in the "Upper Iowa Corridor" project.  However, this is just the beginning as surrounding cities and counties can be added over time.

In addition, the e-Center is looking for businesses and opportunities based on the needs of people living along the corridor.  The decision process involves civic leaders from the cities involved, the Fayette Economic Development Center, and interested citizens.
